POLICIES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Public Walking Tours

Full payment is required at the time of booking in order to secure the reservation.  Tickets that are cancelled with more than 72 hours notice will be provided with credit voucher equal to the amount paid which can be transferred to a future tour.  For guests arriving from cruise ships, please see our cruise ship policy.

Private Walking Tours

Full payment is required at the time of booking for the group in order to secure the reservation.  If you have requested a per person price rather than a group price for the tour, you will be advised of the minimum number required to run the tour, and therefore no refunds will be made if the minimum number is not reached.  Please note refunds will only be made if more than 72 hours notice is provided.  For guests arriving from cruise ships, please see our cruise ship policy.

Public Vehicle tours

Full payment is required at the time of booking in order to secure the reservation.  For guests that cancel more than 7 days prior to the tour, a refund less 3rd party charges will be provided.  No refunds will be provided for less than 7 days notice of cancellation.

Private Vehicle tours (one vehicle)

Payment will be requested approximately 1 month prior to the tour date in order to secure the vehicle.  Payment will be required at least 21 days prior to the tour date.  For guests arriving from cruise ships, please see our cruise ship policy.

Private Vehicle tours (more than one vehicle)

For group vehicle tours where more than one vehicle is required, payment and cancellation terms will be advised at the time of enquiry.

General Terms

It is your responsibility to meet your guide at the agreed time, which is usually 15 minutes before the start of the tour, to allow for check-in and other administration.  If you have booked a ticket for a public tour, the tour guide and group will not wait for you as this is unfair to our guests that are on time for this tour.  Late arrivals who miss their tour will be considered a no-show and will not receive a refund or credit voucher for any reason.  If you have booked a private tour, the tour guide will wait, however the tour time will be reduced, and will finish at the agreed pre-booked time.

Medical/mobility

If you have any medical or mobility issues, this must be advised at the time of booking.  Most of our tours are not suitable for those with mobility issues, and we take no responsibility if guests are unable to access vehicles or sites due to these issues.

Vehicle policy

Our vehicles are provided by third party licensed providers.  No smoking, eating or drinking is allowed in any of the vehicles.

Our tour guides

All our tour guides are accredited and adhere to the requirements of the Bailiwick of Guernsey Guild of Accredited Guides, which requires re-accreditation and first aid training every three years.

Cruise ship policy

For all fixed itinerary tours, payment is required in full at the time of booking.  For bespoke tours, payment is required in full no less than 21 days before arrival or at the time of booking if there is less than 21 days before arrival.  You may cancel up to 7 days prior to the tour and receive a full refund less any third party payment charges.  Therefore we strongly recommend that guests have travel insurance which covers cancellations of tours for any reason.  Where the cruise ship is unable to dock due to weather conditions, full refunds will be provided less any third party payment charges.  We will monitor the ship’s status, if the ship docks late, we will do our utmost to deliver the agreed tour in full, however this may not be possible due to the departing schedule, availability of vehicles and or tour guides.

Photographs/film

During your tour, photographs and film may be taken by a representative of Tours of Guernsey of you and your group, which may be used for advertising/social media purposes etc, without obtaining any further consent, or payment in respect of such photographs and/or films. Unless consent has been provided, no photographs/film will be taken of any children under the age of 16.

COVID Policy

Tours of Guernsey adhere to States of Guernsey governance and guidelines at all times, which may include

1) the compulsory wearing of masks

2) requirement to social distance

3) stay at home requirements if a guest is experiencing symptoms or have recently tested positive for COVID, or have been exposed to someone with symptoms or a positive test

4) vaccinations are strongly recommended

If required, proof of vaccination and booster jabs for the accredited guide will be provided. For up-to-date guidelines, please visit https://covid19.gov.gg/

For the safety of our guests and guides, no refunds or tours will be provided if the guest is not adhering to the COVID policy, guidelines or protocols.

For any tour that requires cancellation due to COVID related reasons, we will endeavour to rebook you, or offer a credit.  We would appreciate as much notice as possible for this situation, and proof of a “stay at home requirement” or positive test result may be required. If a tour is cancelled by Tours of Guernsey due to COVID related reasons, refunds will be provided in full.

Changes and cancellations by tour guide or related supplier

Occasionally we may have to make changes to your booking.  This situation will be quite rare and we will advise you of the changes as soon as we can before your journey begins.  If there are any significant changes, you will be notified in advance and offered a choice of an alternative comparable trip (if available) or full refund on your request.  For your information, our tour guides do not get paid until after your tour is totally complete, and we do take reliability very seriously.  We have minimum number requirements to run our public tours, if the minimum number is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the tour and all monies will be refunded.

Changes and Cancellations due to inevitable situation

If there are any unexpected issues such as natural disaster, war, serious political issues, economic issues and regional tour destination issues, we cannot guarantee you a full refund but we will try to compensate the refundable portion to the extent we are able to obtain refunds from the related parties.

We strongly recommend that all guests have suitable travel/medical/cancellation insurance in place at the time of booking which also covers up to and including the date of the tour.

Tours of Guernsey will not be liable for any loss or injury, damage or loss of property, including but not limited to loss of life, suffered by the guest, whether or not said loss injury or damage was caused or related by acts of any Tours of Guernsey representatives.  By confirming the reservation, the guest releases Tours of Guernsey of all claims and assumes all risks related to the services provided by it representatives.  By confirming reservations of any tour, the guests acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted all the terms and conditions specified in these policies.
